Write a message to Pacifica and KPFA management in the yellow box below, and we’ll forward it to members of the elected national and local KPFA boards, plus key paid managers. Here’s some suggested text to copy and alter as you see fit, or write your own letter:
Pacifica National Board members: I am outraged that Pacifica has hired Jackson-Lewis for advice on labor and employment issues. The AFL-CIO calls Jackson-Lewis the “number one union-busting law firm” in the country. Every dollar that Pacifica pays Jackson-Lewis is a dollar that they will use to destroy unions and fight working people.
There is no excuse for this.
Please don’t claim that Jackson Lewis was imposed on you by a legal insurance company. I understand several of Pacifica’s contracts with Jackson Lews were entered into voluntarily, and were approved by the Pacifica National Board even after it was aware of Jackson Lewis’s reputation.
Please, terminate all Pacifica’s contracts with Jackson Lewis. You cannot claim to support the 99% while giving money to the nation’s number one union-busting law firm.
