I have been Chairman of the KPFA LSB for several years. During this time the level of acrimony has dropped dramatically. I do not take full, but some credit for the change. With many other current LSB members, I have been part of a team working to bring a shared level of knowledge to all the LSB members. I have been in the Bay Area under 10 years, my life was in Chicago for 63 years. When I came to the Bay Area and first heard KPFA, I was blown away. We have NOTHING like it in Chicago and now I cannot imagine my life without this incredible valuable source of actual news, a great selection of music and even an herb show…and more. I worked for many years in factories, 20 in a General Motors plant that built locomotives and I was President of UAW Local 719 for 8 years when I was hired away by SEIU to be Midwest Regional Directory and then Illinois State Council Director. I went to night school to be a lawyer and only in retirement have practiced doing prison law work with the Center for Constitutional Rights here in California.
